Information/Camp Topics

Gallons of green glowing liquids; strange objects flying through the air; messages written in secret code; autonomous robots; mystery substances that change from solid to liquid in seconds.... Is this a fictional account of a visit to another planet?
No… it's a Mad Science Summer Camp! Our camps are truly unique experiences for children.

Mad Science is noted for its trademark 'edu-tainment' philosophy, which cultivates incredible enthusiasm and a sense of wonder in children. We believe that children are born scientists. Children are naturally curious about the world around them, and we believe that we must harness that curiosity in today's youth in order to help foster a lifelong love of science and learning. Our adherence to our core philosophies and beliefs that science should be fun and inquiry based, allows us to continually engage our campers natural curiosity and desire to touch, see and do. We provide them with the opportunity to engage in hands-on exploration and witness truly amazing scientific phenomena.

All Camps run 9am-3pm, M-F throughout the summer

Aftercare is offered in our Jupiter Location only:  3pm-5:30pm

Camps for children entering 1st – 6th grade in Fall ‘17:

FIZZ-ical Science  **NEW**

What’s the mystery all about?  Find out in this camp all about cool chemistry.  We’ll explore the basics of chemistry with some radical reactions and slippery slime!  Want to know who stole the ice cream?  Become a detective and use evidence and clues to catch the crook.  After we’ve fingerprinted the felon with our own Personal Profiler, we’ll celebrate by making and eating our own ice cream!  Crack codes, get crazy with chemistry, and even make your own chocolate candy!

Nature is calling…will you answer?

In this camp, children will learn about the critters and beasts that roam our beautiful planet. The kids will dissect owl pellets, build an insect and bird house and scavenge for food like the animals do. They will also make awesome discoveries about Earth and what part they can play in keeping it healthy.  They will make paper, learn about recycling,  build their own cell and even cook solar nachos!

FUN-gineering  **NEW**

Take an in-depth look at the science behind everyday machines and cool science in this camp about engineering.  We’ll see how your Jr. Mad Scientist brings their inner engineer to life while they construct an amazing kaleidoscope, learn about levers and automatons and create their own contraptions.  In the process even become architects by building our own geodesic dome that we’ll even get a chance to climb inside!

Ever dream of becoming a secret agent? We'll start with the basics: From decoding messages to metal detectors and night vision. Campers will have the opportunity to check out spy tech equipment and take home lots of gadgets like spy glasses! Step into the shoes of a detective as you uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis! Figure out the science of forensics in a hands-on look at crime scenes! Become a super spy and learn clever ways of performing tasks as we take a journey into the world of investigation that spies use!

Creative Contraption Warning! This is a camp designed by you—the Inventor! Each day you’ll be given a series of challenges which must be overcome by using basic materials, simple machines, tips from world famous inventors and the most important thing of all – your mind! With a little bit of ingenuity you’ll construct catapults and forts and then lay siege, fabricate a winning Egg Drop design, construct a dancing robot and assemble a working light saber to take home. While Thomas Edison said invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration, this camp is 100% fun!

Camps for children entering 1st – 3rd grade in Fall ‘17:

Your Jr. Mad Scientist will enjoy a week full of Rocketry and Robotics.  From our Earth’s atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system, this hands-on program sends children on a quest for exploration! Comets, planets, stars and more are all waiting to be discovered. Learn about the four forces of flight, the challenges of space travel, and explore the science involved in rocket construction as you build your own Skyblazer II Rocket™! Explore circuits & electricity, robotic sensors, gears & advanced robotic applications. Play with different robots types while exploring their future capabilities. Investigate robotic fundamentals & build a robot to take home!  What creative camper will design tomorrow’s future robots?

Camp for children entering 4th -6th grade in Fall ‘17:

Learn all about the use of robotics in our world today and how technology will continue to affect our future! Campers will check out sound sensing robots, line tracking robots, amphibious robots, and even robots that play soccer! They will also learn about the mechanical aspects of robots, with gears, gear ratios, torque, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Hands-on activities include building dear sets and operating a robotic arm to retrieve their snack! They will delve into the science of circuits and sensors. Over the course of the camp, the children will build their very own working circuit robot to take home.
